When the power goes out
Jul. 15th, 2013 05:24 pmBela had gotten herself to a hospital right after she'd left Dean, with a story about a bear attack and her camping partner being forced to stitch her up. It was a bit thin, but plausible, and it got her through. She'd come out the other side with a much cleaner looking wound and some truly fantastic painkillers.
She'd never been hurt like this before, and she couldn't have anticipated how long she'd be sore, and forced to take it easy. She canceled any plans for the next few weeks and had buried herself in books she'd been meaning to read. And when the skin had closed over and the sutures dissolved, and all that she was left with was a raw, pink line of tissue, it was impossible to ignore everything that had happened that night.
She'd said..far more than she'd meant to, or ever should have, and her account of such was foggy enough to make her wonder just what she had told Dean. Dean. Who she now, indeniably, owed a favor.
She hated being in someone's debt, and was mentally grousing about that point when her intercom buzzed.
